For this first visit, E and I got seated in the patio so we got to enjoy the last few days of summer and the warm weather!
In addition, I was quite taken back by everything on the happy hour menu which were all very well-priced. We went out of our way and ordered a quite few dishes to try out.
PEI Mussels ($6)
These mussels were not the plumpest but they were still juicy to say the very least. They absorbed the flavour nicely from the white wine and fresh herbs broth that they were bathed in.
Halibut Poppers ($6)
The halibut poppers were addicting. They were very crispy. Also, the pickle and dill sauce provided on the side complemented the poppers very well.
Jesse’s Daily Ceviche ($6)
The ceviche of the day contained raw tuna, shrimp, and fish. I thought the white wine provided a very vinegary taste. I would have liked it more if the ceviche was accompanied by toasted baguette instead of the regular salted crackers served.
Lobster & Prawn Poutine ($6)
I generally like eating fries on its own, but this dish won me over. They used Yukon gold potatoes to make these crispy golden fries. There was a generous amount of Atlantic lobster and prawn pieces spread out evenly in this happy hour dish. Although it’s not the cheesiest poutine I’ve ever had, there was still a sufficient amount of cheese curds spread out evenly in the dish. For the price, this was definitely worth trying out.
Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking to hit up a new happy hour place!
