A great weekend brunch spot for all! Locus offers a great selection of brunch and dinner features. It opens 9 am on the weekend which is perfect for early risers like myself. Service is always top notch with very friendly and accommodating staff.
They serve unlimited complimentary bread which I believe are supplied by Cobs Bread. The bread is baked so soft and pillowy when eaten. This is definitely a filler. We asked for seconds because it was that good!
Farmers Omelette ($15)
This soft and fluffy omelette was so beautifully made and plated. It was packed with rosemary chicken sausage, goat cheese, mushrooms, and spinach. Because it was so delicious, I wished there was more of the chicken sausage . Nevertheless, this was a very well flavoured and balanced omelette all around.
Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict ($16)
The smoked salmon used is actually candied and not the typical ones you would find on a Benny. Ingredients like capers, spinach, and red onion were included. The smooth and creamy hollandaise sauce was evenly spread around the Benny. The egg was poached medium with a bit of runniness from the yolk. A very passable Benedict, but I have tried better elsewhere.
Traditional Eggs Benedict ($14)
The smoked ham for was quite overly salty in my opinion and not as pleasant to eat. It also contained a cheddar mix and scallions. The egg was beautiful on this one with a runny yolk inside.
Locus’ brunch menu is quite reasonably priced. Their Benedicts were only okay overall in my books and they definitely need some improvement there. However, I suggest trying their omelettes as the ingredients used pair well with each other. Next time when I return, I will try their waffles!
